Briefing from Director, Military Digitisation, MOD

In July 2019, Major General Tom Copinger-Symes took up a new post as the Director Military Digitisation within MOD, supporting Defence’s Chief Information Officer in accelerating Digital Transformation across the Services.

Prior to this role, he was the GOC Force Troops Command, commanding the Army’s information-centric and digital capabilities, as well as the bulk of the Army’s specialist support capabilities. During his time in command the formation pioneered the Army’s response to an era of ‘Constant Competition’, culminating in its re-designation as 6 (UK) Div and a leading role in ‘Grey Zone’ operations.

In this briefing, Maj Gen Copinger-Symes will reflect on his tenure to date, and look at what he sees the function of his role to be – alongside future plans.
