The recent report ‘Decrypting Diversity’ from NCSC and KPMG outlined the significant longstanding challenges which face the UK cyber security sector as it looks to foster improved diversity. Its vital for the sectors continued growth and innovation that the UK’s cyber security teams are able to access true diversity of thought, allowing them to more easily develop tools and solutions that speak to the widest possible range of organisations and citizens. We know that this is a challenge across the tech ecosystem and this session will explore the shared challenges cyber faces, as well as those unique to the sector.

Taking place during Black History Month, this event will explore in particular how the cyber security sector can better attract and access talent from BAME backgrounds, and overcome some of the longstanding, and often unintentional, barriers to entry for candidates.

Speakers will include:

Hakeem S. Allen, The Anti-Racist Social Club

Raj Badiani, Raytheon UK

Katie Mills, Schneider Electric
