The session will include information on how to:

• Protecting your organisation – discussion around installing antivirus software, educating staff on safe apps/downloads and phishing emails, keeping IT equipment up to date (patching), controlling how USB drives can be used (blocking physical ports for most users), switching on firewall.

• Keeping your organisation’s data safe – use of strong passwords, assisting staff with password overload, making backing up part of your daily business (covering cloud and removable storage).

• Keeping smart phones and tablets safe – use of PIN/biometrics to access device and also for accessing apps within the device, making sure lost or stolen devices can be tracked, locked, or wiped, keeping devices up to date, keeping apps up to date, avoid connecting to unknown Wi-Fi hotspots.

• Government organisations supporting businesses in the cyber landscape – Overview of the NCSC, CRC, Police Cyber Alarm.
