The Ministry of Defence (MOD), in partnership with IASME have announced the creation of the Defence Cyber Certification (DCC).

The DCC will provide a new cyber security certification framework designed for UK Defence suppliers.

The new scheme will help to strengthen the UK’s broader ambition to improve the cyber resilience of the UK’s Defence supply chain. The DCC will offer a single, organisation level, assurance which suppliers can present in support of UK Defence Procurements.

Organisations will be expected to go through an annual check-in and re-certification every three years.

Certification Levels

There will be three different levels:

Level Zero (3 controls)

Level One (101 controls)

Level Two (139 controls)

Level Three (144 controls).

All levels will start with Cyber Essentials, Levels Two and Three will require Cyber Essentials Plus.
