techUK, in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), are delighted to today relaunch Cyber Exchange. The improved platform will continue to help organisations navigate the UK cyber sector, with new features which allow a more intuitive user experience, whilst utilising the latest tools and datasets to better promote and foster growth throughout the sector.

The UK cyber security sector is regarded as one of the world’s leading, producing cutting edge cyber-capabilities and boasting rapid growth year-on-year. The most recent Government research suggests that there are over 1200 cyber security companies active in the UK, with a total revenue of over £8.3bn, employing around 43,000 full time employees. This rapid growth has fostered a mature and healthy cyber landscape within the UK seeing a large number of new, innovative companies enter the market every year. The breadth and competitiveness of the sector also means that it can prove hard to navigate for larger corporates and SMEs alike.

The Cyber Exchange was originally developed in 2016, through the Cyber Growth Partnership (CGP), to map the UK cyber sector and give companies a platform to raise their profile withing the community. Throughout 2019 DCMS and techUK have funded and developed this major redesign which makes the platform more intuitive, allowing users to discover and track new innovative SMEs, fostering new partnerships, investment and revenue growth throughout the sector.

The new cyber exchange supports UK cyber security companies by:

  • Utilising the latest Dealroom API and datasets, to continue to map the UK cyber sector, in a way which helps organisations discover and track innovative cyber companies, fostering new partnerships and investment across the UK sector.
  • Maintaining an easy to use and intuitive search facility to aid all organisations reach local cyber security companies and their products. Particularly, this feature can aid SMEs from all sectors as they look to secure their businesses online.
  • Providing a platform to access the latest opportunities and events, from both industry and Government promoting collaboration and awareness of key growth initiatives and trade missions.
