The UK Cyber Security Council Formation Project is seeking Technical Strategic Lead to join our project team.

The National Cyber Security Strategy (NCSS) 2016-2021 set out the Government’s ambition to develop the cyber security profession. As a result, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) commissioned the establishment of the UK Cyber Security Council and awarded the contract for its creation to a consortium of professional bodies. For more information, take a look at our project page.

The project commenced in earnest in October 2019 and as it nears its mid-way point we’ve identified the need for an individual to offer strategic oversight of products being developed through the workstreams from a technical perspective.

You’ll work alongside the Project Manager to develop and agree the over-arching technical strategy for the Cyber Security Council, and to ensure the project workstreams are coordinated and guided to deliver products in line with such strategy. You’ll also work with the Project Secretariat and report to the Senior Responsible Officer via the Senior Project Manager, working closely with the wider consortium partners, the Project Workstreams, the Project Board and Advisory Group and all stakeholders.

A background in the cyber security profession at senior level, along with demonstrable experience of having led and owned enterprise technology strategy development and implementation in a cyber context, is essential. For more information please download the full Job Description.

The Project anticipates that this role will be required full time between now and mid-October 2020. Given the current status of Covid-19 this individual is likely to work from home but may, depending on the advice of government, be able and expected to join the rest of the secretariat at IET offices in Stevenage for some of the working week. The Project and the IET are open to discussing a variety of working patterns which best suit the needs of the project and the individual.

The full job description can be found here.

If you feel you have experience in a number of these areas, please send us your CV for consideration.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
