Secure Innovation Security Review

Helping businesses to identify and manage key security risks, including those linked to state threats, and to integrate protective security into business strategies

Delivered by Innovate UK Business Growth as part of a cross government effort led by DSIT, this scheme offers innovative early-stage UK technology businesses expert, tailored guidance to help protect their ideas, technologies, competitive edge and reputation. Delivered by approved security reviewers, the service helps businesses identify and manage key security risks, including those linked to state threats and helps them integrate protective security into their broader business strategies.

A Security Review provides a high-level assessment of an organisation’s security posture, covering:

• Protective Security Governance
• Security Culture
• Risk Management
• Cyber Security
• Secure Supply Chains and Partnerships
• Incident Management

The value of the Security Review is £3,000. Participating businesses contribute £500 towards the service (direct to the selected security reviewer). The remaining £2,500 is funded through the scheme (paid to the Security Reviewer on completion of the review. All businesses accepted will also receive a £300 voucher towards Cyber Essentials (redeemed against IASME self certification)

To be eligible businesses must be UK registered and trading and under 250 employees. The business must be working in one of the 17 sensitive areas of the economy set out in the National Security and Investment Act, or within one of the four selected areas of the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy.
